California State Policy
CCL-CA focuses on legislation that is aligned with CCL’s policy agenda, including carbon pricing and cashback, healthy forests, clean energy permitting reform, and building electrification and efficiency. Democracy is essential to our bill selection process; we strongly believe that all voices must be heard. CCL empowers everyone to use their voices and the tools of democracy to build political will for a livable world.
We strive for consensus both within CCL and the larger climate community. We gather feedback from other climate organizations to understand their goals and priorities, and survey our active members throughout California for their inputs on climate bills. This process ensures a focused, unified approach with broad support for the bills we lobby.
Our methods include lobbying our elected representatives and outreach to media, businesses, and community organizations. These methods help us build public support and unity within the California Legislature and our communities.
